It’s been a long journey with Power Gummies. From their very first Shopify website to ongoing development on their Shopify Plus website, as the brand has grown, so has our relationship!


Early Days

The story dates back to 2018, when Divij Bajaj, (Founder - Power Gummies) was struggling to make his parents consume multivitamins and started looking for innovative solutions. This is when Divij had his eureka moment stemming from a simple thought - “Why not create something that people would love to consume without hesitation and reminders?” This thought kick-started an innovative experimental process involving cookies, bars, chocolates and many other options, eventually leading to the vibrant and deeply nostalgic gummy bears!


“For our very first product, we surveyed some women in our target segment and discovered that hair and nails were a common pain point across all age groups and walks of life that we could aim to improve with one solution - Biotin” says Kapil Mittal (Chief of Business Strategy - Power Gummies). The general assumption was that since the Power Gummies are an innovative product, market acceptance would be slow and well-informed. As the team set up a Wordpress website, within a year they managed to sell over 10,000 bottles of the Gorgeous Hair & Nails gummy joy! 2019 brought about a migration to Magento as Power Gummies launched Beautiful Beach Body & That Time Of The Month! Within no time, the need to migrate to a better platform arose and Shopify emerged the winner!



A strong Shopify start with Marmeto

Once Awchat & Olsen designed the brand's fun, confident and global look successfully, it was time to translate the design and take it live through pieces of code on Shopify! The visual look of the website meant that complete customization would be required on Shopify. The convenience of a template from the Shopify Theme Store  wasn’t an option. The team encountered additional challenges such as events not firing or Json getting stuck. Another challenge was that the website would require most of the images and banners to be hard coded rather than downloadable images. 

“I was of the strong opinion that we need a tech team in-house since we may need to roll back or add features on a daily basis. Add to the fact that I’d had a bitter experience working with agencies in the past. However, Divij was convinced that we should try out an agency.

I had my first call with Saurav in August of 2019 after a reference from a VC friend. I remember bombarding him with a specific but exhaustive list of functionalities that we wanted in the new Shopify store. Being the logical person that he is, Saurav asked me for the exact opposite - A list of everything we didn’t want in our Shopify store. When I spoke to Saurav, he fundamentally helped me un-learn a lot in every following conversation. The call with Saurav single-handedly helped me gain trust in Marmeto as an agency and there began our journey.” says Kapil





Marmeto’s first sprint with Power Gummies

I am a person with technical know-how, but my team is a mix of technical & non-technical people. My job in the first sprint also included being the bridge between the Marmeto team & our team. But a lot of potential friction was avoided because Saurav doesn’t beat around the bush!
When our team had internal conflicts, Saurav would just say - Choose your priority. You can’t always give equal importance to everything. These sprints of consultation that come free with every call with Saurav really helped us achieve our goals in phase1.” says Kapil

“How people know us, before seeing and tasting the gummies and experiencing the packaging and related touchpoints, the very first experience that they have about the brand is the website. It would have been quite difficult to achieve that without Marmeto’s involvement” adds Kapil while summing up his first experience.


The powerful PLUS experience 

As time passed and orders flooded in, Power Gummies moved up the ladder of Shopify plans gradually from Shopify Basic to Advanced to Plus! Even after the PLUS website was developed, they require 40 to 60 hours of customisation work on the website for marketing & data driven efforts, almost every month. Thus began the second and ongoing phase of development for Power Gummies with Marmeto

Shopify Plus really works to our advantage. Not only can we completely customize the checkout journey for the buyer, it helped us reduce our COD orders and RTO rates as well with various solutions like Prepaid Incentivization, Phone Number validation, Pin Code Validation as well as OTP verification!

We now have 5 store fronts dedicated to India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE & a global site respectively!” says Kapil



Continued affinity towards Marmeto.

When asked to describe a memorable experience at Marmeto, Kapil said “Marmeto is easily one of the top Shopify development agencies in India. So their technical knowledge and expertise is a given. However, our experience was elevated to another level in this 2nd phase thanks to their weekly feedback calls

These calls that are conducted every Friday, earlier by Neelam and now by Karan have created a huge difference in our experience. This department has a lot of ownership and they assess the feedback with an absolutely unbiased approach.

I recall a moment with Neelam from last year. I was very involved with the due diligence for technology and I was quite occupied when Neelam called for feedback on one Friday at 4:30pm at my preferred time. I asked her to call back in half an hour. She called me back exactly at 5pm. I told her I was still busy and if we could set up the call for the next day. She agreed immediately despite it being a non-working day and called me the following day at noon sharp! The point is, she chased me till the point that she got feedback. Her agenda at the core wasn’t to get the task done, it was to know our experience. This is what we’ve grown to love about Marmetians now!”
